It has finally come the time when all the jitters have settled into a normal lifestyle. Adam and I have successfully transitioned from two loving people splitting the daily and weekend chores and sitting at the dinner table to now just making sure our clothes smell clean and the dinner trays are setup by 8:30. This in turn means that school is officially underway and the schedules have been officially turned upside down. My new job has turned out to be very rewarding and in two weeks I can tell that I lot of progress has already been made. This makes me very proud. I am rarely proud of myself for anything. Needless to say the last few weeks of summer and the first two weeks of this school year have flown by! Here’s a quick breakdown:
Two-A-Days: Very freaking hot! Adam didn’t fall off the sled so I consider those weeks very successful!
New Teacher Orientation: I realized that I am no longer embarrassed to have marshmallows thrown in to my mouth from 15 feet away in front of a gym full of teachers. I came in second in this competition. I hate being second to anybody or anything.
Scrimmage against West Texas High: Boys looked good and it was the first time to see the boys truly lower their shoulder and to quote Steven, “Hit Somebody!”
Watched Wheeler’s Scrimmage: Ehhhhhh…..
Scrimmage against Stratford: Boys looked Great!
First week of School: No tears from me… (Lots from the Kinders in my hallway though)
Game against Childress: I hate my life!!! Lost the game on the last play of the game with time running out. 31-30 and Adam’s first regular season lost.
Saturday with Mom: Picked up a new pair of jeans (first NEW pair in two years), a 6 qt tea jug, a new dress shirt for Adam (Mr. Superstitious didn’t think he could wear the one he wore Friday again), a new love statue and some thread to hem up my dress pants to capris. I got those done Monday night and I’m glad I saved the money and made my own. Mom also brought me our wedding ring quilt (different blog) and a beautiful mirror. Can’t wait to hang it up!
Second week of School: Just as good as the first with lots of compliments as to my student’s progress. Tonight we finish up with a game in the Oklahoma country. It is the land of different rules and I don’t wanna go but it’ll be great weather and it should be a butt whoopin!
Thankful that today is Friday and that I have off Monday. Luckily the house is really clean since we haven’t been home and I get the next three days off! Hopefully Adam and I can finish up season 1 of “Friday Night Lights” (this is all we have watched for the last 2 weeks which means I have seen no other TV shows.) Wish I was celebrating Dove Fest with the rest of the Hamiltonians and here’s hoping for safe travels and successes to the Bulldogs at their Homecoming game tonight!
