I can promise you that spring/summer is officially in full swing. Adam has been to Waco every weekend for the past 4 weeks in a row without complaint. We have been to t-ball games, visited with family, job interviews, Maddies' big third birthday at the bouncy house, Jack Caldwell's wedding, and it seems like we can't get everything done fast enough before we have another "something" come up. As I look back on the past year I realize that keeping us busy is what has gotten us through all the lows. Football season flew by because of the ever increasing anticipation of what was coming up next. The next team, the next win, the next challenge. After football season was the wedding, the arrival of Lexi, basketball season, baseball season in with track, and now all we keep looking forward to is next year's football season. All I know is that at this rate fifty years are going to flash before our eyes!
On Friday I got to fulfill one of my New Year's Resolutions. I was able to take my oldest niece Bailey to the state track meet in Austin to watch some some of Adam's kiddos run and jump. She aspires to be a Texas Longhorn when she grows up so I wanted to take her down to give her a glimpse of her future. It was probably the worst day for weather, but once we were there everything cleared up and we spent an evening in the cool Austin air watching some of the most talented athletes in the state show off their stuff. I think Bailey had a great time! Congrats to all of the Wellington athletes and all the athletes around the state for all of your hard work!
We were double booked on Saturday with Madilyn's third birthday party in Waco and Jack Caldwell's wedding in Evant. We were able to spend the afternoon watching Madilyn expend every bit of energy bouncing, laughing, and having a ball. She was quite tuckered by the time present and cake time came. She got many wonderful gifts from all of "Doodlebug" fans and family. We quickly zipped home to change and headed off to the home-country for Jack and Vanessa's wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous and the rain held off as they took their fabulous party into the evening hours.
Today is the next-to-last day in quite an adventurous weekend. We are packing up and heading to Wellington today. I have a job interview in Childress tomorrow (30 minute drive from Wellington). Afterwards, it'll be time to get ready for the Skyrocket Athletic Banquet at the Ritz. I CAN'T WAIT!! Adam has worked extremely hard getting everything ready. Once I return to work on Tuesday, it's just 10 1/2 school days left until summer vacation. We are taking the kids to the Waco Water Park for their end of the year field day on Friday. Smooth sailing from here on out! That my friends is awesome!
