The Dream Car

I bought my first car in November 2007.  To this day, I still love it as much as I did day 1.  It's cheap, gets fairly good gas mileage, is easy to park, and is big enough to haul crap around.  Yesterday I woke up to find my car covered in shoe polish by some sweet little darlings doing a video scavenger hunt for school.  As it was covered in so many vulgar sayings as "I love OU" and "Go Boomer Sooners," my heart ached for my poor silver bullet in the driveway.  As I was washing it off at 6:50 in the morning I got up close and personal with my sweetie and noticed her wear and tear and it got me to thinking about all the good times we've had in the last 3 years.

Her injuries are as follows:

1. She was crashed in February 2008 in Hamilton.  While she looked like she did before, her front emblem is still lying in the back of my car as a sign of my accident.
2. The front bumper is frayed from dragging the ground from Wellington to Waco after hitting a tire tread in the road.  It was one of the best weekends ever.  What a great reminder of my long journeys back and forth.
3. Hail dents and a cracked windshield came in July 2009 on a journey to Cripple Creek, Colorado.  The freak hail storm did damage to my baby, but it was the first time I got to go camping with the family on one of the summer trips.  Adam and I have returned there since.
4. Dented fender also came on the same trip in July 2009.  I backed into a tree in Cripple Creek.  I have never laughed so hard at my stupidity!
5. Fish-eye crack in the windshield in October 2009 on the way to Ft Worth with Mom.  We were on the final journey to get wedding jewelry at Sam-Moons, get my veil sewed by my sweet Aunt Pam, and finish up the final details at Hobby Lobby.  Wonderful day spent with my mother.
6.  Crack all the way across my windshield.  This happened in December 2009 after some snow and ice in Hewitt.  The was the beginning of the crazy weather that brought me to a breakdown move to the Arboretum in Waco for our wedding destination.
7. Hail Dents all over were the results of a sudden storm that swept through Hewitt in May 2010.  I was finishing dinner with my mom and Chuck and headed home when I was caught in the storm.  I was unable to get into the garage because all of my possessions were sitting in there waiting to be loaded on the moving truck the next day.  What a way to go out!
8.  While I was scrubbing my windows clean, I looked into the back of the car to see my new tires that are ready to be mounted.  In only three years, I have gone 80,000 miles.  My car has been to so many amazing places and I wouldn't trade it for the world (at least not until that baby is paid off and I can pay cash for the next one!)
