What It's All About

Our wedding is fast approaching. Living in two different towns has proven to be no problem! We are having a very small wedding with our closest friends and family on January 1, 2010. Adam and I are both very obsessed with numbers and significance of dates. The story of our current anniversary is proof that the date is our number one priority! We wanted to make sure we'd always be able to spend our anniversaries together which narrowed down the 12 month calendar to Christmas break (transition of football to basketball off-season and baseball) and Summer. Now the problem is, I don't like summer weddings. This is only because of the Texas heat. They are often beautiful and the colors can be amazing, but the heat always seems to melt the day away. This left us with Christmas break. We love the fact that we've been best friends since the roll of the millennium and we were immediately attracted to the date 1/1/10. This now leads to my hypocrisy of weddings. For the past several years I have proclaimed that I would not have a wedding and Vegas or a JP were the only options. When it is all said and done, we both agreed that we needed a day. This one day to be dedicated to our love for one another and our future life together. So off we set to get an idea of what we wanted. Here's our plan.... We are having a New Year's Eve party the night before with a few close friends and a simple ceremony in Waco on New Year's Day. No fuss, no muss. I'm so excited about the idea and I believe it is going to fit our style perfectly!
