As soon as I got off of work on Monday, I picked up a test and made a deal that I would wait for Tuesday morning like I was supposed to for the best results. What did I do instead… Tested as soon as Adam was at the house. I didn’t tell him what I was doing, but when he heard the squeal from the bathroom, it didn’t take long for him to figure it out!! Here we are! The very beginning of a few very stressful weeks. At this point, we thought I was around 4 weeks and 2 days. Thursday I had a Doctor’s appt. to see how things were going. Since this is our third attempt at this they wanted me to come in as soon as possible. This included lots of bloodwork to test for thyroid levels, beta counts, and progesterone levels. Friday the test was repeated to see if the beta HCG levels were rising appropriately. They called us right before we left town on Friday to say that although they were low, they had gone from about the 130’s to the 180’s which meant they were going up right on track. (First sign of the pregnancy being a week off track) Right then I realized that the upcoming weekend trip with Dad and Carmyn wasn’t going to be quite the zealous adventure we had planned. Instead of staying up late and gambling like high rollers, I was in bed at 8:00 and Adam got to stay up and watch the playoff football games. We had a blast, and as I sucked on MANY peppermints to keep the nausea at bay, I realized that maybe this may finally be the answer to our many many prayers.
